I haven’t had the Otter is my spirit animal shirt But I will love this best experience living with cats. In my younger days I shared a house with friends who owned cats. The first cat was a big beautiful fluffy white thing, but a nightmare to live with. Even though I wasn’t his owner it was my door he would constantly loudly whine outside EVERYDAY at 5am while his mistress enjoyed her slumber. He would also constantly circle around my ankles and even scratch and bite them. He also found my work room a great place to toilet in even though only centimetres away was a Huge garden to relieve himself in. I also found it difficult to put up with his cat behaviour of killing birds. On top of all that he was not affectionate to me. So there was no sadness on my part when we parted company. The second cat I lived with wasn’t as awful, but did have the annoying behaviour of trying to eat my dinner. We lived in a very casual household and usually ate on the lounge chairs. I remember that I could have a plate of vegetables and everyone else icecream, but the cat would be trying to sit on ME and eat off my plate. ( a big no-no with me!) So I haven’t had the best experiences living with cats, although they seem to like something about me. I know there are wonderful cats out there, unfortunately they weren’t my housemates’.

I’ve never been even a tiny bit jealous when other people have found my cat (s) beautiful and showed them attention or affection. Sometime I lovingly joke with my husband about our cat loving him more than he does me, but only because it’s true! Our 14 year old Maine Coon “wannabe” is a complete “daddy’s boy!” We adopted three rescue kittens in 2007, and he is the Otter is my spirit animal shirt But I will love this only one remaining. Cats often will attach to one person in a family. Many have preferences..some cats prefer human females, and some human males, and some will not seem to attach to any particular individual. I suppose if your partner demonstrates far more attention to the cat, than to you, I can understand some jealous feelings..but, remember, the cat is like a living plush toy..they are soft, warm and comforting and if you’re bonded with them, they have so much to offer..but it’s nowhere near the bond one has with another human! Other humans will meet a thousand different needs throughout our lives and no cat can come anywhere near that. We love our cats, and they love us back (sometimes)..but it’s not comparable to human love and interaction, no matter how much affection is displayed.
